Sure We Can is a nonprofit redemption center that was founded by and for canners—people who collect cans and bottles and redeem them to earn a living, five cents at a time. The facility, a 16,000-square-foot lot in Bushwick where more than a million cans and bottles are redeemed each month, offers a glimpse into the role canners play in the circular economy. Learn about Sure We Can’s organizing and educational activities, such as their advocacy efforts to expand the New York State Bottle Bill.
