How was the High Line transformed from a derelict rail line to one of New York City’s most visited attractions? Join engineers from Buro Happold on a walking tour along the South End of the High Line as they offer a unique perspective on the park’s history and design. Participants will learn about the architectural and engineering complexities of this multi-phased project, as well as ask questions. The tour will emphasize many engineering aspects, as Buro Happold designed the structural, electrical, plumbing, civil, and code/life safety components of the High Line renovations.

This will be an outdoor walking tour. Wear comfortable clothing, closed-toed shoes, and wet weather clothing if rain is forecast. The High Line is a busy, popular park, particularly on weekends.
