This tour will be led by Robert Hellyer, PE, Associate Director at schlaich bergermann partner, about the structural engineering responsible for the design of two transparent stainless steel and glass enclosures located in the Hudson Yards neighborhood. An overview of the collaborative design process that took place with the Architects for each project, focusing on key visual details, materials, and geometry will be provided. A discussion about the structural design approach and principles required in order to meet the transparency and aesthetic goals will also be given. Questions from tour members are encouraged!
