Olympia is an iconic building at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood. Formed by a complex series of site-specific zoning regulations, the shape of the site combined with the multiple sky exposure planes created significant challenges for development. The architects seized the opportunity to sculpt it into the form of a twisting sail that boldly and gracefully evokes Brooklyn’s maritime heritage, with sweeping curves of movement and energy.
