The Open City Benefit is Open House New York’s single largest source of support, making possible our work to promote broad, unparalleled access to the city—the places, people, projects, systems, and ideas that define New York and its future. And it is a ton of fun.

Launched in 2018 and conferred each spring at the Open City Benefit, the Open City Award recognizes a place of singular importance to the past, present, and future of New York City.
This year, the Open City Award was awarded to the design-build team behind the Rooftop Pavilion and Farm at North Javits, led by Lendlease Turner, WXY Studio, TVSdesign, Moody Nolan, Stantec, Magnusson Klemencic Associates, and Jaros, Baum & Bolles. The award was accepted on behalf of the project team by Alan Steel, CEO of the New York Convention Center Operating Corporation.
