Church of the Mediator (Iglesia El Mediador)

Dubbed the “The Little Cathedral of the Bronx,” this neo-Gothic church was designed by Henry Vaughan and features Tiffany glass windows, a 1927 stained-glass window depicting Jane Addams and Booker T. Washington, a 70-year old Skinner pipe organ, and terra-cotta altarpieces, the only known work of renowned English ceramic artist George Tinworth in the United States. On Saturday, October 21st, the organist will play the pipe organ from 3:00-6:00pm. Tours of the church will be offered every 30 minutes on a walk-up, first-come, first-served basis. Meet at the main entrance to the Church sanctuary, which is accessed from gates on Kingsbridge Avenue. The address 3053 Kingsbridge Avenue is best for this entrance.

We have a ramp that does not meet all of the criteria of ADA compliance, but does provide access for many mobility-assistance devices. The approach to the Church (and ramp) are gravel and wooden decking.
