BioBAT Art Space is a non-profit gallery dedicated to the intersection of art and science. The gallery features cutting-edge bio-art, where artists and scientists create works that push the boundaries of both fields. Exhibitions explore themes like sustainability, ecology, and the intricate workings of life, providing visitors with a thought-provoking experience.

Currently, on view, WATER STORIES invites audiences to immerse themselves in the poetic and ecological significance of water. The exhibition connects local waterfronts and coastlines with global narratives, historical legacies, and imagined futures. Through immersive, multi-sensory installations and interactive artworks, WATER STORIES encourages a reflective journey, highlighting the critical importance of water in our lives.

Curated by Elena Soterakis, the exhibition is inspired by the essential work of the Interstate Environmental Commission (IEC), which has monitored the ecological health of shared waterways in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut since 1936. Exhibiting Artists include Anne Hollænder, Arantxa Araujo, Christopher Lin, DB Lampman, DLX Design Lab, Edrex Fontanilla, Elizabeth Hénaff, Heather Parrish, Keren Anavy, Léonard Roussel, Nathan Kensinger, Ranjit Bhatnagar, Sara Kostić, Sarah Nelson Wright, Seth Wenger, Yan Shao, and Yoko Shimizu.

The entire facility is wheelchair accessible. For any questions or special accommodations, please email us at [email protected].
