Saundra Thomas is Principal of SPT Consults and lends her expertise on strategic planning, communications, and board development to nonprofits. Most recently, she was Vice-President of Community Affairs at WABC-TV, where she led the strategic vision for community outreach, station visibility, and philanthropy while working with 200+ nonprofits in the tristate. Thomas has made community service the center of her life and was a candidate for New York City Council in 2013. In addition to OHNY, Saundra is a board member of Indigo Arts Alliance, New York Women in Communications, Prospect Park Alliance, and Chair Emeritus of both Council for Unity and Dancewave and serves on the advisory boards of Services for the Underserved and the Women’s Leadership Network at Saint Francis College, where she received an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters. Saundra holds a B.A. in Journalism from Rutgers University and an M.A. in Media Studies from The New School. She is a proud and enthusiastic resident of Ditmas Park, Brooklyn, where she lives with her family.
