Weekend Encore: Joy on the Edge at Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden

The Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, a former 19th century charitable rest home for sailors, is a place where history, architecture, gardens, agriculture, visual and performing arts, and education come together to provide a dynamic experience for all ages. Snug Harbor’s unique, free, and open campus consists of 28 buildings, 14 botanical gardens, a two acre urban farm, wetlands, and parkland.

Extend your OHNY Weekend experience with a visit to Snug Harbor for Joy on the Edge, a storytelling performance project amplifying the lived experiences of Black Staten Islanders from the North Shore. Visit on Saturday, December 16th, for the release of a book encompassing these stories and the premiere of a documentary-style film where black Staten Islanders tell their stories on camera.
