1. Celebrating 20 Years of Unlocking the City

This October 21-23 marks the 20th anniversary of OHNY Weekend. More than 200 buildings, projects, and public spaces—from workspaces and cultural venues to private residences and infrastructure facilities—open up for tours, talks and other formats for both in-person and virtual explorations. 

2. The Big Reveal

3. It’s 100% FREE

In the spirit of being a more open, accessible, and inclusive organization, this year’s festival will be 100% free to the public—no more $5 reservation fees for places that have restricted capacity.

4. A New Lottery System (aka No More Reservation Day Stress)

We know demand far outstrips supply for many places with restricted capacity–and that the most popular tickets get scooped up by those able to sit in front of their computers the moment they’re available. No more of what’s been described as “akin to buying Beyonce concert tickets” (reload page, reload page, reload page, sold out)! This year, we’re leveling the playing field. The window for making reservations will be open for 48 hours, from October 13 to October 15, and then tickets will be distributed via a randomized lottery. Stay tuned for more details!

5. Personalized Weekend Itineraries and Web Access

We’ve made another huge improvement. Starting October 6, you’ll be able to build and save your OHNY Weekend itinerary to make the planning process even easier. That means you can keep changing your personalized itinerary up to and through OHNY Weekend. You’ll even be able to share it out on social media or through email to friends and family. 🙂 

6. More Perks for Members

We’re deeply grateful for the Open House New Yorkers who make our work possible. This year, Members will enjoy a first look at the OHNY Weekend lineup on September 29, plus a special virtual Members-Only Happy Hour in early October where OHNY staff will share tips and tools for optimizing your Weekend. Memberships start at $50/individual and $90/dual.  

7. A Beaux-Arts Kickoff

First, we party. Celebrate with us at the OHNY Weekend Launch Party, happening Thursday, October 20 at Surrogate’s Courthouse in Lower Manhattan. Enjoy an evening of food, drink, and special entertainment with a community of Open House New Yorkers. Purchase tickets.
