Roy is a design leader and strategist whose work has changed the skylines of New York, Miami, and LA. Deeply experienced and driven by an unquenchable curiosity, he believes design has the enduring power to improve our daily lives. As Chief Design Officer at Extell, Roy oversees the designs of a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and hospitality projects to ensure excellence and innovation in design. As a Principal at Eight Inc, Roy led both the creative and business processes of the New York studio. Eight is most well known for starting the Apple retail experience but also provides design strategy as a stand-alone service. Its multi-disciplinary offering attracts a wide diversity of clients that span from retail to workplace to hospitality to residential. As the owner of Roy Kim Design, he provides services in interior design, design business development, and design strategy. In his previous role as Chief Creative Officer at Douglas Elliman, Roy oversaw the design and marketing of development projects across the country. He was SVP of Design for Extell Development from 2006 - 2014, where his role encompassed development, construction, marketing, and sales, in addition to leading the design process for all projects. Some noteworthy projects include One57, Central Park Tower, One Manhattan Square, and The Lucida. He holds a Masters's in Architecture and travels the world, feeding his addictions to design and swimming.
