“A gentle city symphony that provides a love letter to the five boroughs.”
– The Film Stage

For the past six years, Matt Green has been walking every block of every street in New York City-a journey of more than 8,000 miles. Directed by Jeremy Workman and executive produced by Oscar nominee Jesse Eisenberg, The World Before Your Feet is a documentary that tells the story of one man’s personal quest and the unexpected odyssey of discovery, humanity, and wonder that ensues.

Open House New York invites our members to a special screening of The World Before Your Feet to watch how this modern-day Thoreau gave up his engineering job and apartment for a five-borough expedition that took him from the barbershops of the Bronx to the forests of Staten Island, and all the New Yorkers he met along the way.

Following the screening, Matt Green and director Jeremy Workman will join us for discussion and Q&A.

Reservations are only open to members and their guests and are required as space is limited. Tickets are free for members, $10 for member’s guests.
