About this Event

John F. Kennedy International Airport moves an average of 171,000 visitors daily on 1,300 flights. Originally built in 1943, large-scale efforts to modernize the transportation hub have been ongoing since 2020. Join the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for an inside look at these ongoing redevelopment projects. Enjoy a tour of both the terminal and runway sides of the airport while learning about major improvements and benefits of the construction efforts.


Access Notes
  • Accessibility considerations: The lobby has security gates that can be opened for wheelchairs. There is an elevator to the 2nd floor, and the location has ADA compliant bathrooms.   
  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. There will be some walking from the street level to an elevator on the landside tour.
  • A valid, government-issued ID is required on your person to attend the program. 
  • Parking is available at the lot adjacent to Building 14. Visitors who use the lot to park must provide their license plate number to security upon arrival.
