The Apollo Theater is an iconic American cultural treasure. Since its founding in 1934, The Apollo has celebrated work that centers Black artists and voices from across the African Diaspora. In July of 2025, the theater embarked on its first full-scale renovation in the venue’s 108-year history. Metropolitan members are invited to join a hard hat tour with Beyer Blinder Belle Architects + Planners, Charcoalblue, and Consigli Construction for a behind-the-scenes look at the ongoing restoration, preservation, and upgrades, from the ceiling to the legendary stage. During the tour, participants will learn about the scope of the project and hear directly from the teams overseeing this once-in-a-century revitalization.
