The Metropolitan Summer Party is back! Metropolitan Members are invited to our annual celebration of adventurous urbanists, at Jack Shainman Gallery’s stunning new Tribeca home. The space is itself a story: the landmark New York Life Insurance Company Building was transformed into the gallery's new flagship through one of the city's most ambitious adaptive reuse projects. This monumental neo-Italian Renaissance tower is renowned for its grand architecture, featuring opulent marble, bronze, and gilded finishes, sweeping staircases, and richly detailed mahogany-paneled interiors.
Spend the evening with fellow Metropolitan Members over drinks and light bites, surrounded by the work of Lynette Yiadom-Boakye, whose exhibition Many a Moonlit Caveat is currently on view at the gallery. The evening will also include remarks from Walter Biggs, Director of Operations at Jack Shainman Gallery, on the building's transformation, offering a behind-the-scenes look at what it took to bring this landmark back to life.
What's Metropolitan? Metropolitan is OHNY's membership circle for early-career professionals and adventurous urbanists. If you have a dog-eared copy of The Power Broker or think a sewer tour makes a great date, Metropolitan is for you. Metropolitan starts at just $10/month. Join us.
