Winners: Wikipedia at OHNY Weekend Photo Competition

Open House New York and Wikimedia NYC partnered each year in October for Open House New York Weekend to present the Wikipedia at OHNY Weekend Photo Competition. The competition invites budding and experienced photographers to submit their best photos taken during OHNY Weekend on Wikimedia Commons. Hundreds of photos were submitted to the 2018 competition, and all photos are now part of the largest online repository of public domain images and are being used to illustrate articles across the world from the Wikipedia page for “handle” and “hydroponics” in German, to “Modern architecture” in French!

All submitted photos were grouped into three categories–Interiors, Exteriors, and Details–and reviewed by a panel of judges. One winner was selected in each category. Based on the number of votes, one category winner also received distinction as the Grand Prize Winner. Additional photos were recognized as Honorable Mentions.

Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all who participated!
