Staten Island, New York City, and the nation’s history and architecture are alive and present within the built environment of Conference House Park. On this weekend, in addition to the park’s namesake, the circa 1680 Conference House, two other historic house interiors will be open to visitors. This includes the NYC landmark-designated Henry Hogg-Biddle House (circa 1840) with its front and rear two-story portico and the William H. Rutan House (aka The Rutan-Becket House) with its intact 1950s era kitchen. The maritime past of Staten Island’s south shore is highlighted by these wonderful historic buildings. The Biddle House will also host an art exhibition by the South Shore Artists Group both days.
