Red Hook, Brooklyn

Red Hook Brooklyn is a quaint neighborhood overlooking the New York Harbor, with equal amounts of industrial and residential life. Embodying this urban mix, Camber Studio has created a light-filled fabrication shop, design studio and apartment into an old brick warehouse, right in the heart of Red Hook. The varied combination of spaces, in a unique part of the city, is the perfect home for a couple of makers who actively weave work and family life under one roof. For the 2024 OHNY Weekend, Camber Studio invites visitors to tour the live/work space as an example of how old industrial buildings can be revived to support a mix of contemporary commercial and residential programming. Tours will be led by Camber Studio principal, Wes Rozen, who will discuss the architectural design from concept to small practical details. Along with a walkthrough of the workshop and Caretaker Apartment, Wes will briefly present some of the studio’s current projects, including a couple experimental houses and collaborations with other artists and designers.
