I’ve been an Open House New Yorker since

I’ve been an Open House New Yorker since 2022. Initially, I thought Open House New York was a program that allowed New Yorkers to view open and available apartment units for rent. So I signed up and eventually learned about the organization and its mission and purpose. After receiving an email one day asking for volunteers, I decided this would be a good way to learn and experience New York while giving back and being of service to my fellow New Yorkers. Little did I know the impact it would have on me and the amazing community and people I would get to know.

I’m an Open House New Yorker because our city needs more friendly faces to reveal what amazing places and spaces New York has to offer.

Do you have any tips you’d like to share with prospective volunteers?

To prospective volunteers, I dare you to not only learn what unique places lie in this city, but to openly welcome and get to know other volunteers. You would be surprised what interesting lives us volunteers lead outside of supporting OHNY. 

What do you love most about OHNY Weekend?

What I love most about OHNY weekend is getting to meet, greet, and learn about my fellow New Yorkers, and learning what my site does and how it benefits and serves New York.
