MTA Signal School Tour—Lottery closed

Get an inside look into the training center where the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (MTA) signal personnel learn to maintain the Signal system, one of the most critical pieces of infrastructure in the MTA’s subway system. Visitors will get an overview of the signals system from a New York City Transit employee and view a mock subway track with train signals and switches, along with older and newer transit equipment, such as interlocking machines and relays that are used to train signal personnel.

There will be two forty-five minute tours at 8:30am and 9:30am, respectively.

Due to space limitations, free tickets for these tours will be distributed by lottery. you can enter the lottery at this link before Wednesday, January 17 at 5:00 PM. Attendees will be randomly selected and notified on Thursday, January 18, and must confirm their attendance by 5:00pm the same day.

One lottery entry per person, please. You may indicate on your lottery entry form that you would like to receive a second ticket if you are selected.

Visitors must sign a waiver before entering the facility and submit photo ID and pass a background check to adhere with security protocol. Photo and video are strictly prohibited.
