2023 OHNY Weekend Lottery

LOTTERY UPDATE
The first-draw OHNY Weekend lottery is now closed.
Winners for the second-draw OHNY Weekend lottery have been notified via email from OHNY Weekend | Lottery (via Airtable) on Saturday, October 14. To confirm tickets, lottery winners must take action by clicking “Accept” or “Decline” for each win by 4pm EST on Monday, October 16. If this action is not completed by 4pm EST on Monday, October 16, tickets will be released.

In the spirit of being more open, accessible, and inclusive, the 2023 OHNY Weekend festival is 100% free to the public—no more $5 reservation fees for places that have restricted capacity.
To replace the first-come, first-serve registration process from previous years, tickets for ticketed locations will be distributed via a lottery system.
Keep in mind: many OHNY Weekend offerings are open access, meaning you can skip the lottery, embrace spontaneity, endure the occasional line, and enjoy public access to 175+ locations across the city.

Q. When does the lottery open?

A. The lottery will open on Tuesday, October 10 at 9am.

Q. When will the lottery close?

A. The lottery will close on Thursday, October 12 at 9am.

Q. How do I enter the lottery?

A. From October 10 at 9am until October 12 at 9am, each ticketed place will include a link to a form to enter the lottery for a specific time slot. The form will be your lottery entry for ONLY that time slot. Complete the form with your name, email address, cell phone number, and ZIP code. You may submit a lottery entry for as many places as you’d like, for multiple different time slots per place. However, only one entry is allowed per time slot for each tour.

Q. Are the lottery tickets free?

A. Yes— the lottery is FREE to enter. There will be no charge for any tickets.

Q. How many lottery tickets can I sign up for?

A. You can enter for an UNLIMITED number of places requiring a ticket, for MULTIPLE time slots. However you are only allowed to enter once per time slot.

For example, you could sign up for all 4 time slots on the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum tour, but only one entry per time slot (4 entries total). If you win, you will only be selected for one of those time slots.

Q. Can I enter the lottery for multiple places with the same time slot?

A. Yes, you can enter the lottery for multiple different places at the same time. You cannot enter the lottery more than once for the same place at the same time.

Q. Can I enter the lottery with a friend?

A. New in 2023: You have the option to add a guest when you submit a lottery entry. If you’re looking for a group or family experience, please check out the selection of 175+ Open Access experiences.

Q. When and how will winners be chosen?

A. Winners will be randomly and anonymously chosen after the lottery entry window closes at 9am on October 12. There will be multiple draws of winners from Thursday, October 12 through Monday, October 16.

Q. How will winners be notified?

A. Winners will be notified via email between Thursday, October 12 and Monday, October 16—and all lottery winners MUST confirm their tickets during the specified window (and don’t worry, we’ll allow adequate time for everyone to respond, you will not need to sit in front of your computer all weekend!)

Q. Is it possible to win multiple tickets to different experiences?

A. Yes— it is possible to win multiple slots with no conflicting dates or times.

Q. How do I confirm my attendance for a tour?

A. You must confirm your attendance by email to receive a ticket. You can respond directly to the email notifying you that you’ve won a ticket.

Q. Can I bring a guest with me on a tour?

You can request to bring a guest when you submit a lottery entry. Children under the age of 12 are generally permitted on tours with an adult, though exceptions apply (e.g. hard hat tours). For child-friendly access, check experience descriptions or email info@ohny.org with “OHNY Weekend Child Question” in the subject line. Caregivers providing assistance are permitted to attend as a guest.

Q. What happens if I do not confirm my ticket(s)?

If you don’t confirm your lottery ticket(s), it will get passed on to someone else. So if you enter the lottery, you’ll need to look out for OHNY emails and confirm by the specified deadline. 

Q. Will there be a waitlist if all slots are not filled?

A. There will be no waitlist— remaining tickets will be re-drawn until all spots are filled.
