Westbeth Artists Housing was founded in 1970 to provide affordable housing for artists and their families. Located in the former Bell Laboratories, Westbeth Artists Housing was designed by a young Richard Meier and was the first adaptive reuse project of its kind. Its mission is to be a resource and generator of artistic endeavor for artists working in the fields of literary, visual, and performing arts. Within the complex are spaces devoted to the creation and presentation of art by resident and guest artists, and by the arts organizations located there. During OHNY Weekend, visitors can also visit the ART&CRAFT&VINTAGE MARKET on-site, showcasing wares from neighborhood artists, food and music from some of Westbeth’s most notable artists from 1-5pm. **Saturday & Sunday Tours** – Guided tours: Will be offered on a rolling basis from 1pm to 4pm for up to 20 people at a time, covering the history of both Bell Laboratories and Westbeth Artists Housing, along with the vital role that Westbeth plays for artists today and will play in the future. – Open Studios: Artists will be opening their live/work studios for visits from 2pm-5pm. **Multi-lingual Tours** – Guided tour in Chinese on Saturday, Oct 19, at 2pm for up to 20 people.
