The Block House is a 183-year-old landmarked building situated on the Nolan Campus on Governors Island. Previously serving as a hospital, military administration building, and ferry operator housing, the structure now houses an overnight design residency program managed by the Institute for Public Architecture. Join a tour of the house, visit the new design library, and view the Fellow project exhibition during OHNY Weekend.

Steps are required to enter and navigate the house. Governors Island can only be reached by ferry. Ferry tickets may be purchased at the Battery Maritime Terminal at the time of departure or in advance online. Several ferries in the mornings are free.
