Ravenswood Generating Station is NYC’s largest power plant. On the hottest days of the year, Ravenswood provides over 20% of the City’s electricity. For more than 60 years, Ravenswood has been a core piece of New York City’s electric infrastructure.
Now, Ravenswood is on the cusp of transformation. Rise Light & Power, which manages and operates the plant, is working on a plan to transform the site into a green energy hub. By replacing the site’s 1960s-era fossil fuel generators with renewable energy, the Renewable Ravenswood plan envisions a major environmental justice victory for Western Queens, a just transition for its union workforce, and a reliable green energy future for all New Yorkers.
Come learn about the past, present, and future of the Ravenswood Generating Station on this hard hat tour, and be one of the first members of the general public to visit this site!
Important: Tour availability and size are subject to change based on plant operations. Ticket holders must submit a photocopy of their passport or state-issued ID for a background check by 10/9 at 12 pm. Admission is not guaranteed.
