The QueensWay is a community-led effort to transform a blighted, 3.5 mile stretch of abandoned railway in Central Queens into a family-friendly linear park and cultural greenway. Located within a 10-minute walk of over 244,000 New Yorkers, and in a high-density area lacking in sufficient parkland, the QueensWay will emerge as a green space oasis. Join Friends of the QueensWay to walk the future Metropolitain Hub and Forest Park Grove section, which runs through a 60-year-old urban forest in historic Forest Park! We will explore and learn about the history of the QueensWay by those who helped to make it a reality!
