Moynihan Train Hall and Penn Station – Art in Transit Tour

Take an in-depth look with Amtrak at the meaning and process behind the artwork commissioned for Moynihan Train Hall and Penn Station. Permanent installations include works by Kehinde Wiley, Elmgreen & Dragset, and Stan Douglas. Art at Amtrak’s rotating works by local artists, located throughout the Penn Station complex, currently include works by Karen Margolis, Josh Frankel, David Rios Ferreira, and Shoshanna Weinberger. Access will also be provided to Amtrak’s first-class lounge, the Metropolitan Lounge. A special bonus peek at a new installation may be possible, if time allows.

Open City Series This program is offered during OHNY Weekend as part of the Open City series, showcasing projects that have received the annual OHNY Open City Award for their sizable contribution to quality of place in New York City. Awardees include Powerhouse Arts (2023); Moynihan Train Hall (2022); Trust for Governors Island (2021); TWA Hotel (2019); and Cornell Tech Campus (2018).
