Lehman College is home to two buildings designed by Marcel Breuer Architects. Tours will be led by representatives from DOCOMOMO US/New York Tri-State of Shuster Hall, which was originally a classroom building and is clad with distinctive terra cotta flue exterior screen, and the Fine Arts Building, which has six double-story, tree-like columns that support the roof with broad cantilevers.

Lehman College is home to two buildings designed by Marcel Breuer—the legendary architect’s first completed works in New York City. Shuster Hall, originally a classroom building, is clad with a distinctive, gridded terra cotta flue screen that provides a striking contrast with the variegated stone facades of the surrounding 1930s Collegiate Gothic campus buildings. Just to the south of Shuster, the glassy, low-slung Fine Arts Building contains a remarkably open and spacious interior supported by just six double-story, tree-like columns with broad cantilevers.

During OHNY Weekend, tours of these two high Modernist treasures will be led by representatives from DOCOMOMO US/New York Tri-State.
