Visit LaGuardia Airport’s Marine Air Terminal, an Art Deco building that opened in 1939. It is the only active airport terminal dating from the first generation of passenger air travel in the United States and has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places since 1982. Visitors will be able to experience the pre-security Marine Air Terminal Rotunda, which includes a stoic bust of Fiorello LaGuardia and features the largest mural created during the Works Progress Administration (WPA), “Flight” by James Brooks. Today, the Rotunda is home to part of Spirit Airlines’ check-in operations and continues to contribute actively to the LaGuardia Airport landscape.

Presented as part of the Centennial celebration of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
