Step inside the Yard through Instagram Live experiences on @BklynNavyYard.

From artists’ studios to factory floors, the Yard is home to more than 500 innovators, makers, and manufacturers making everything from movie sets to biomedical equipment. IG Live experiences allow visitors to see some of these amazing works of art, products, and goods, while also seeing where production unfolds. Each visit is family-friendly and will last anywhere from 20 – 30 minutes.

Saturday, October 16

2:00pm – 2:30pm –  IceStone Factory Tour

Step inside IceStone’s factory floor and see how the company converts glass into countertops, vanities, and more. To date, IceStone has recycled more than 17 million pounds of glass. This tour takes you into the showroom and manufacturing space and gives an introduction to the history of the company. 

4:00pm – 4:30pm – Nick Golebiewski Studio Tour & Demo

Join artist Nick Golebiewski for a virtual tour of his studio as he shares insights into his city painting series, which includes iconic views of Chinatown and Coney Island. Viewers will also lean about his eight-year long (and counting!) daily drawing project, Nick’s Lunchbox Service, and see the artist give a demo on acrylic transfer prints. 

Sunday, October 17

12:00pm – 12:30pm – Food Truck Tour

Enjoy the sites, sounds, and (imagined) smells of the food trucks at the Yard for #OHNYWknd. Turnstile Tours will chat with several food truck purveyors and get to know about how they got started and their favorite eats and treats…. Get inspired and come to the Yard by 5:00 p.m. to meet the chefs and sample the food offerings! 

2:00pm – 3:00pm –Charlotta Westergren

Meet artist Charlotta Westergren who will discuss her most recent body of work that explores interior spaces devoid of human figures. Charlotta will discuss her creative process as well as her experiences of working at the Yard, a site from which she draws inspiration.

4:00pm – 4:30pm – Kings County Distillery

Follow along as Kings County Distillery gives a tour of their premier craft whiskey distillery located just steps from the Brooklyn Whiskey Wars of the 1860s. This tour discusses this history as well as revealing detailed into the brand’s distilling process. Fun for whiskey and history enthusiasts alike.
