Rising above the suburban houses of Flushing, the impressively decorated towers of the Hindu Society of North America point the way to this historically important religious center. Popularly known as the Ganesh Temple and completed in 1977, this building was the first Hindu temple in North America.

On this virtual tour, you will see and learn about the significance of the temple’s design, including the temple entry with a glass-roofed walkway and carved teak doors, the large central room with a multitude of shrines, and two silver chariots used in the annual Ganesh festival, which draws adherents from all over the world.
