After three years of environmental clean-up efforts, the upper section of the Gowanus Canal is re-opening to recreational boaters. The Gowanus Dredgers invite you to come witness changes to the Gowanus neighborhood from a whole new perspective: the seat of canoe! Join us for a free, self-guided canoe trip and learn about the cleanup and what the future could hold for our community. Canoes, life jackets, and paddles are all provided, and no experience is required. Children are welcome with adult supervision. Up to 12 people at a time, first-come-first-served. This year, OHNY Weekend coincides with Gowanus Open Studios, and the Gowanus Dredgers Boathouse will also feature a participating art exhibition in our gallery space.  **Family Programming**: Our public events include hands-on environmental activities for children, including aquatic life observations, make-your-own ribbed mussels, and more.
