The historic houses in Nolan Park and along Colonels Row on Governors Island were built in the late 1800s to house military officers and their families during the Island’s history as a base for the U.S. Army and, later, the Coast Guard. Today, they are the idyllic seasonal homes of a community of more than a dozen different arts, cultural, educational and environmental non-profits that bring a rich roster of programming to Governors Island visitors. During Open House New York weekend, visitors will have the opportunity to go inside a selection of these historic houses and experience exhibitions, events and activities from NYU Gallatin WetLab, Harvestworks, Endangered Language Alliance, ArtCrawl Harlem, NARS Foundation, NYC Audubon, West Harlem Art Fund, Escaping Time: Art from U.S. Prisons and more.

Ferry reservations are required to visit Governors Island. Visit govisland.org to book ferry tickets, learn more and plan your visit.

The health and safety of our community is paramount. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination with ID and a mask is required for ALL in-person experiences. See guidelines: https://ohny.org/covid-19-update/
