Freshkills Park is a 2,200-acre oasis and one of the largest areas within NYC where access is restricted. It is now home to rare grassland birds and a vast diversity of plant and animal life. Buried underneath the idyllic landscape is over 150 million tons of solid waste. Join us for a virtual tour following Freshkills' path from a wetland, to a landfill, to an ambitious reclaimed lands project and a story of environmental resilience.
