The Ford Foundation Center for Social Justice is a hub for social good and the courageous people who devote their lives to achieving it. The historically significant Landmarked building, with an 11-story atrium garden, was the first of its kind in the United States. The architectural firm of Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates designed a soaring, inspiring space for the foundation’s headquarters: a radically transparent building of glass, granite, and Corten steel, occupying a near-perfect square that stretches the width of the block between 42nd and 43rd streets.  On OHNY Weekend, get a special look at the Ford Family Auditorium and 11th Floor Overlook in addition to its atrium garden. From 10am to 12pm, representatives from Thronton Tomasetti will be on site to speak about the structural engineering of the building. From 12 to 2pm, representatives from Gensler will be onsite to speak about the renovation. “Cantando Bajito: Chorus,” an exhibition about creative resistance in the wake of widespread gender-based violence, will be on view at the Ford Foundation Gallery.
