Tucked away on the sixth floor of The General Society of Mechanics and Tradesmen, the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art’s Cast Hall displays a collection of historical plaster casts of Classical and Renaissance architecture and sculpture (originally owned by the Metropolitan Museum of Art) alongside fragments of historical woodwork from significant buildings and country houses in the UK. The gallery now plays host to scores of visitors, ranging from students to practicing artists. Visit Cast Hall for open sketching and to learn about this historic art practice and collection. **Friday & Saturday Gallery Talks**: 11:30am, 1:30pm, and 3:30pm Special half-hour gallery talks with the Gallery Coordinator also will be held throughout each day to help visitors learn more about our historic collection. Art making will also be available throughout the duration. **Family Programming**: Have you ever wondered how artists throughout history learned their skills? Many of them studied by drawing plaster casts. Try your hand at sketching like a neoclassical artist, using different colors of charcoal and paper to capture the light and shadow you observe!
