This listing previously mentioned musical performances by African diaspora musicians Wuza Wuza and Grupo Marabuana. Those performances require tickets, available only through Bronx Music Hall’s website, and are not part of Open Access to this site.
The Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation (WHEDco) developed the Bronx Music Hall (BMH) as a performance venue and community cultural center dedicated to honoring, showcasing and cultivating music, dance, theater, and interdisciplinary arts in the Bronx. Designed by WXY, the BMH features a 250-seat flexible performance theater, a Lobby and Exhibit Hall, rehearsal and classroom space, and an outdoor amphitheater and plaza. The BMH is the new permanent home of WHEDco’s Bronx Music Heritage Center (BMHC), founded in 2010 to preserve and promote Bronx music, cultivate Bronx artists, spur neighborhood revival, and provide cultural programs for the community.
Sunday programming: from 12:00-2:30pm, visitors can explore Bronx Music Hall’s theater and see musicians prepare for the afternoon concerts. The lobby, exhibits, and dance studio will be open to visitors from 12pm-6pm.
Security screening procedures will be in place when guests enter the building.
