BookOps is a shared library technical services organization that serves the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) and the New York Public Library (NYPL). BookOps is jointly governed and funded by NYPL and BPL and carries the responsibility of meeting the strategic collection management and distribution needs of each organization.

Explore BookOps in a virtual tour and learn about how the facility acquires, describes, prepares, and delivers new items for the circulating collections of Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) and New York Public Library (NYPL), and for the general collections of NYPL’s research libraries.

This event is offered during OHNY Weekend as a part of Radical Knowledge: Libraries as Community Catalysts, an ongoing program examining how libraries serve as both vibrant learning institutions and centers for their communities, providing physical and virtual spaces to enrich civic life, expand economic opportunity, and improve the quality of place and quality of life for New Yorkers.
