The Billiou-Stillwell-Perine House is one of the oldest private homes in the state of New York and the oldest house on Staten Island. The Billiou family built the oldest section of the home in 1663. The house was augmented by various owners over the centuries, bearing witness to changes in architecture and growing alongside the nation of the United States. The house was first preserved by the Staten Island Historical Society in the 20th century. Alice Austen, pioneering photographer on the island and a historical society member, briefly operated a tea room out of the house.

Historic Richmond Town is delighted to offer small group explorations of this home. Tours by reservation will have the opportunity to see the original Billiou section of the house, featuring wide floor boards from old growth forests and a jambless fireplace.

This is an historic structure on uneven ground. No parking is permitted on the house grounds.
