The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will host a virtual tour of the recently restored and upgraded Avenue V Pump Station, the sewer system’s Beaux-Arts jewel which was constructed in the early 20th Century. In 2015, DEP completed a $210 million project to restore this unique public work to its original architectural grandeur and to upgrade its infrastructure to increase the pump station’s capacity to convey wastewater to treatment, thereby ensuring the health of local waterways.
