It serves as a solemn reminder of the historic role slavery played in the development of New York City. **Saturday Tours**: tours at 10:30am and 2pm Guided tours for up to 30 visitors will be offered on a first-come, first serve basis. Tours last 1 hour. Whether this is your first visit or if you are a returning visitor, this hour-long tour is a wonderful introduction to the National Monument. The tour includes a showing of the park film, “Our Time At Last,” which is approximately 20 minutes long. During the program, the ranger will present on the history of slavery during the Dutch and British periods and the history of the African Burial Ground and its rediscovery in 1991.
