March 4th, 2020
6:00PM - 8:00PM
This event is free and open to the public and seating is available on a first-come-first-served basis.
Through every era of American history, New York City has been a battleground for international espionage, where secrets have been created, stolen, and passed through clandestine meetings and covert communications. Highlighting 233 spy sites through 380 photographs and maps, Spy Sites of New York City (Georgetown University Press, 2020) takes readers inside this shadowy world and reveals the places where it all happened. Trace the footsteps of spies and spy hunters and discover true stories of derring-dos and double-crosses that put even the best spy fiction to shame.
Open House New York and Rizzoli Bookstore invite you to a talk with authors H. Keith Melton and Robert Wallace as they weave through a guide to the region’s secret history.
H. Keith Melton is an internationally recognized intelligence historian and authority on espionage technology. He is the author of Ultimate Spy: Inside the Secret World of Espionage and is special espionage adviser on FX’s The Americans. Robert Wallace is the former director of the CIA’s Office of Technical Service, founder of Artemus Consulting Group and contributor to the CIA’s Center for the Study of Intelligence. Together with H. Keith Melton, he has written five books including Spy Sites of Washington D.C.
